  2. Why not focus on the fact that you are doing good things for the community and take pride in that.  These trips aren't supposed to be about being social or well liked.  Yeah, you can have fun, but I think you are kind of missing the point.  That is why your parents want you to go.

  3. Explain to your parents how you feel. Then offer an alternative suggestion for working such as volunteering at a local charity orginization.

  4. Tell them you dont want to. Maybe suggest that you spend your time better by helping out a food shelter 1 time a week.

  5. I think this may have to be an attitude change on your part. Some parents are soooooo head strong that they refuse to lift their foot back up. Try to be positive in your role as a worker for God. Ask

god to give you a spirit and attitude of compassion for the people you are helping. Try not to make it all about you and how you feel. As evangelical pastor Joyce Meyer said, "The best way to get over yourself is to help someone else." Let this be an opportunity to let God use you.

  6. Well you can talk to them about it, telling them why you don't want to go and find some alternative. If they still make you go, then go and make the best of it... try to become friends with others in the group or become stronger friends with those that are your friends... just try to have fun with it and make the best you can out of it.. try to gain something positive from going.

  7. You didn't say how old you are. These church groups are very cultish by their very nature. Also overran, in some anyway, with child molesters. Tell you parents that you are standing on your own Morals, and have decided this is not the path for you. See this site first:

  8. tell them that this is making you think about becoming an atheist
