I am thirteen and gas is getting so high we can't just go to random places. We have 2 computers and 5 people in our house. Is this as bad as it seems to me to you?

  1. Gas, bad? Yes. Loss of TV? No. I live by myself and have Internet, but no TV. I don't know what redeeming factor staring at a box has.

I see a lot of people watching TV in their house in broad daylight. To me that is as morbid as it gets. Why waste your time in front of a box depicting events that aren't even true and won't in any way influence history?

  2. go outside, theres a world out there

  3. watch movies

  4. As long as you have the internet you shouldn't be freaked out at all....I watch all my tv shows on my computer and I don't have cable or satellite. You can use websites like tv-links.cc to watch streaming video of tons of tv shows and movies or you can download them using bit torrents. Bit torrents is a bit more complicated than watching them directly on a web site...you have to download a program like utorrent then when you click on "download torrent" on a website like www.torrentz.com it will load in the utorrent program and start downloading.

    Hope this helps.

  5. u shouldnt be freaked out at all. my dad doesnt get cable either. there are a lot of things you can still do on the internet. you can also go outside or read books. no tv also gives you less of a distraction when you have to do homework or study for a test, so it CAN be a good thing. you will also have more time to hang out with you friends.

your parents are doing wat they can with their money, gas proces are redicuals and i dont blame them for cutting the cable. just remember, tv is not life, theres a ton of more things to do. :-)

  6. I know it's a pain in the ***, but your parents are just trying to the best they can with the money they earn. With the price of gas doubling over the past couple of years, I can see why they are having to cut back wherever they can. Maybe you can go to the library to use high speed internet? And TV does come for free over the air, just not as many and varied of channels.

  7. well I come from a family that is very technologically advanced so this is probably not going to help but...

i have 8 tv's in my house and all with HD but i only watch them for 1 hour a day. Since I am an only child and have 5 computers in my house i know that you can watch tv on the computer if your that desperate. I don't know about u but i have better things to do (living in NYC) than watch tv.
