and the DHL delivery guy just left it at the door (supposedly). I did not see any package when i came home. I called up their helpline, and asked why did they not deliver it to the leasing office instead of leaving it at the door. They admitted their mistake and asked me to tell my parents to file a lost claim. My question is: Do these lost claims ever work? They need actual receipts of the gifts purchased, and pictures of the items. My parents have long ago thrown the recipts away!!!!!! What do we do now? Pls help......

  1. If they admitted their mistake then they don't need receipts. Admittance means they know about the package. Your parents could just give DHL their information(name, address, date of shipment, etc.) and DHL could recover the tracking number; it can be done if the package was indeed delivered. Once the tracking number is found, DHL can either find the package(probably impossible) or just reimburse you parents for shipping charges and the amount of the gift. Hopefully this helps. Also, in the near future have a neighbor accept packages for you especially if you know they are coming. If this should happen again, the delivery company should know to take the package back to the post office and/or redeliver another day. Keep that in mind.
