Ok, in my Eng Lang exam we had to write about a tragic time in our lives. My teacher always said, "lie if you have too". So I did. I didn't have much to write about anyway. So I wrote about being raped. So now the exam board have called the school and called my parents, thinking my exam was "a cry for help". I told them it's not true and I was just making it up to improve my writing and make it stand out, but they think I'm covering for someone. I've told them over and over that I WAS NOT RAPED. I can understand there concern and all, and perhaps I shouldn't have written about it, but why don't they believe me? What on earth can I do to convince my parents and teachers that I wasn't raped!!?

  1. That isn't really something to write about on exam, don't you think so?

Just give them time, and keep on denying  it.

Or tell them that 'Don't you know your own daughter? If something like that happened, I would get help! Cheese, I just didn't have any other ideas, ok? Ask the teacher to let me redo exam, and i will write about something different... -.-'

Tell teachers that you want to give a small meeting one break. Invite your parents and explain everything.

  2. well that's what you get for lieing. you should have just written about something that really happened to you. Sadly, you've told them that you weren't and that is all that you can do. Don't worry about it too much, everyone is just really concerned for you.

  3. welll let them talk 2 da teacher and let ur teacher tell ur parents that she sed to lie if u have to maybe if they no where the source is from u can convince them u werent raped u no parent are more bpund to listen to adults than there own child

  4. So there upset you did the assignment the way you were told to, typical, just ignore them, and remind them it was what you were told to do.

  5. Bring them through it with logic. Have the proctor so in this case your teacher, talk to your parents about how the purpose of the assignment was to test your writing ability and that you were told you could make it up if you want. Have her essentially explain the topic the same way she did to you. Your parents know you haven't been through anything too traumatic so it's obvious that you would've made something up. A FICTION PIECE. If they don't buy it then, well then just forget about it. There's not much you can do.

As for people telling you that you shouldn't have lied. I disagree. When you're writing some topics are more interesting than others making them seem better. When you're assessing somebody's work you're there to assess their writing ability. It's not fair that somebody's paper seems better because they had a difference experience in their life. I've been very often told when writing that I could make things up if I wanted. It's common with writing.

  6. prove you didnt get rapped take a preganacy test,

  7. Rape is a very serious subject to write about. Maybe you should have picked something less serious. Obviously your parents and teachers may now be worried. But you jsut have to keep assuring them that you weren't raped.

  8. Haha! You must've done the same exam as me. Did you do the A2 one?

Anyway, I don't see whats wrong with writing about it. They don't give you enough time and you do just have to write about the first thing that comes into your head.

You should tell them that if you had been raped you would tell them and you wouldn't hide it. I think they are just scared that you would even think about that happening to you (stupid as that is) and that you're still a baby.

Lets hope for your sake that they mark the content, NOT the subject. My teacher always told me that it doesn't really matter WHAT you write about, it's HOW you write. Like you, she also told me "Lie if you have too!". I'm glad I didn't now.

Offer to go to the doctors and be checked out, stay positive and keep reassuring them that you haven't been raped. Tell them you did it because nothing bad has happened in your life because of your parents. Thank them and just keep telling them it's not true.

    Good luck with that.

  9. it's just a paper i agree with you on this in this day and age it's  all about rape, drugs etc. so doing a paper on one of these topics is acceptable

  10. be patient with them... you'll have to tell them again and again and again.

but think of it from their perspective - they probably have the naieve idea that you won't know about or understand rape because you're just their little girl.  it's kind of a shocking way for parents to realise that their child is actually a young adult with independent views - and it sounds like they've underestimated your creativity too.

explain to them that you were under pressure in the exam, and that you had to think fast in order to come up with a suitable situation to write about.  reassure them that the reason you picked something so extreme is because there has been little true tragedy in your life - and thank them for providing you with a childhood that was so secure you couldn't think of a real situation to write about!

they will believe you in the end if you stick to your guns and tell a consistent story.

p.s. congratulations on being able to write such a convincing story, but you've used "there" in your question where you should've used "their concern" - one to remember for your next exam!

  11. wow. i dont know what to say

  12. why would you write about getting raped

  13. Just continue telling them that you vveren't its about all you can do. They vvill eventually believe you about it. Just be like dude you guys are freakin annoying I vvas NOT raped....its called creative vvriting and I vvas so creative you think it is true. lol

  14. you could go to the doctors and they could check.

  15. wow... thanks for the 2 points??

  16. if she said that u could lie, ask the teacher in front of ur parents if she said that u could lie, she cant lie so when she says yes say that u were doing what the teacher told u

  17. A2 exam?

strange -topic but all you can do is explain what an emotive topic it was and could they please inform you what grade you got lol

  18. THAT IS HILARIOUS

    but awful

you must have been very convincing.

  19. i agree with you it was just a paper.. but i guess some people dont  understand that..  i guess there always gana think  that you were raped. but you know you werent

  20. thats really tough, i guess just keep telling them sorry

  21. Wow, you may be looking for attention and not knowing it. Usually people would have talked about a car accident or the death of a loved one. But rape...? You went too far... that's serious.

  22. thats not really something you should lie about but you could go to a doctor and he could check you to see if...yeah.....i beleive you but thats not funny/true so dont joke about it.

  23. Ignore the person who says you can be charged for public mischief.  The teacher encouraged you to write fiction, and that's what you did.

  24. that's a terrible thing to write about if you weren't raped. there are women who are really raped, and you go and lie about it and write a whole page on it.next time dont lie.

  25. You better hope that the board, the school and your parents don't call the police. You could be charged with public mischeif for that. It was wrong of you to write about something so serious. I'm actually surprised that people responded to this. I'm sure many people are extremely shocked and disgusted that you would lie about such a thing. Just because a teacher tells to you "lie if you have to", doesn't mean you actually do it, or it doesn't mean that you lie about something so serious.

As someone who claimed rape after being sexually assaulted by a 43 year old at 14, I was charged with public mischeif because it wasn't rape, just sexual assault. I didn't know that, but still had to serve my probation regardless. If you think that situation hasn't affected me in any way, please rethink that.

What you need to do is sit everyone down and explain to them that you have had a pretty good life and couldn't think of any really tragic time in your life and you felt this might make a good story, wrong as it is. Apologize for the inconvenience and tell them you did not think it would come to this and that you won't do anything like this again. Offer to rewrite the story if you absolutely have to, and if need be, offer to have a doctor examine you for any signs of rape. Apologize profusely for this. And also, accept whatever consequences come your way. I hope for your sake that they don't call the police on you.

  26. hnmmmm....leave me to ponder.could that be your secret fantasy?its strange to come up with a rape story if u never have been through it.

  27. d@mn straight my teachers told me to do that and i get in trouble for lying about it by the administration

  28. that's quite extreme lol
