My parents want me to get rid of my mice but I told them that I refuse unless we find a safe place where they?

Will not be used as food and will not be thrown in a cage with twenty other mice. I don't want to abandon them and there's no real local pet shops I can ask to take care of them. Can anyone help?

  1. Why are they requesting such a thing? Are there too many mice? Are they just not being cared for? Perhaps they will allow you to keep your favorite two or three buddies?

Otherwise, have you thought about putting them on Freecycle in your area? It is a Yahoo group that runs in most larger towns and cities. You can 'OFFER: Mice for pets, not food!!" and pick out potential owners to make sure they get good homes.

Good luck! I love mice and have have them as pets myself!

  2. take them to a local pet store or Humane Society.

  3. There are mice and rat rescue groups in many areas, you may be able to find a group that will take them, you might have to pay a fee, but it's better than giving them to a pet store who will resell them as snake food. (Most pet shops only sell the mice they take in from people as food) This one may help: http://www.rmca.org/Rescue/  They are based in California, but there are more on google if you don't live there.

  4. you could sell them to somebody who wants a pet mouse. like an actual person, not a store or whatever.

  5. and why does your parents want you to give your mice away you love it don't cha?
