  1. Jackson is a long way from the coast and will be safe even if Gustav goes ashore at Waveland and heads straight to central MS.  You will be fine there.

  2. From what I heard yesterday, it was susposed to turn towards into that way [Mississippi], but today they're showing Louisiana and some of Texas right in the path of it. I really don't know though, this storm is so confusing. If it does anything in Jackson, it'll probably just be strong winds and heavy rains. Hopefully, that's all...You should be safe there.

Where in Jackson do you plan on staying? Most of the hotels/motels are booked. I tried calling about five places there and asked for recommendations for other rooms in the area and they all told me none were availible! That's why I'm having to go to Texas to ride it out!

Good luck though and be safe ;]

  3. If you have some where to go in Jackson, then the only thing you will have to worry about that far inland would be wind and rain.  Not as much as the coastline areas of FL, MS, LA and TX.  They would get hurricane force winds and flooding rains.

Jackson is a good spot, but in case there are no hotels, have you tried Vicksburg, TN, or somewhere further North?
