My parents won't let me get a new computer even though i said i would pay for it...any suggestions?

I have a computer that barely still works, but my parents arent letting me get a new computer. I told them i would pay for it myself but they still won't let me!

Please help!!!

Their response could help us making a better judgment call.

do things to convince them you are responsible enough to do that....my parents wont let me have a cell phone either even though i am going to pay for it....i feel your pain

You can pay for a computer but your parents are still paying for the electricity and will probably have to pay for the internet...The computer is only part of the cost.  It still costs money to run the computer.  I'm with your parents.  When you can afford to pay the monthly cost of running the computer then maybe you'll have a reason to get a new computer.

if you can afford it go buy it, if you're asking for a loan they may not trust that you'll pay it back, but if its you're money they can't tell you what to do with it
