My parents won't let me shave?

my parents say it will make my leg hair grow darker and longer. but my leg hair right now is embarassing!!! i hate it!!! help! how do i tell them i NEED to shave? and not just because everyone else shaves???

and that is totally, NOT true. hair NEVER grows back darker and thicker.

hmmm I suggest do it anyways, or just wear pants all summer till they cave in. Thats what i did! lol!

this is totally  untrue, usually mothers tell  boys that shaving makes  hair  grow thick,  becuase  they dont want they're little  boys to  turn  into men. if they say  that  they read that it  makes it  darker  then  it was a lie. How  could cutting  hair make  it  any darker. And as  for  it getting longer  it  you  shave, there  is  no logic  in  that sentence, how can  Not cutting your leg  hair, make  it  not grow longer,  WTF!?!?!?!?!11 if you  shaved your leg hair on a  regular basis you wouldnt notice it getting thicker,  thats to say  if it did  ofc.

I bugged my mom and bugged her and bugged her some more. She finally let me, but that's just because i went and bought a razor myself and some shaving cream and shaved :)

If you do that make sure that you don't press down really hard when you shave and cut yourself. By the way, the first time i was totally freaked about cutting myself... It stings a little bit and then like... yeah. that's it. well...unless you like completely sliced yourself. which is kinda hard to do... but you only do it if you are not paying attention :) i recommend doing it in the shower. . . more moisture and the water is right there to rinse your razor off :)

ask them if u can use nair/veet...it grows less, and not fast,  i use it

ur parents are right about ur hair will grow darker and longer but it depends on ur age i started at a young age since grade 3 :) and i dont regret it! but you should wax instead.

If you shave, then why does it matter how much it grows, no one will  see how it grows! I have seen people talk about girls just because they have hairy legs. Trust me, preteens/teens are not forgiving, especially girls. You can also start wearing pants a lot. Even in heat. Your parents will get annoyed

Talk to them and try and understand why they don't want you shaving. Tell them that leg hair does not grow darker and longer if you shave, it just looks that way because it is stubble. I have been shaving for years, but if I don't shave for a few weeks then my hair is as long and soft (and gross) as it was before I started shaving. Also, does your mom shave? This might help you convince them. If it has to do with the sharpness of the razor, consider using lotion hair removers such as Veet and Nair.

Even though my parents don't let me shave either I do it because i know the leg hair is EMBARRASSING. I suggest you buy shave cream and a razor yourself and hide it from your parents. I do this and my parents don't even notice. If not tell your parents this leg hair makes you self conscious and it's embarrassing...but I would go with the first advice that I gave you. Just shave. I don't know why your parents are stopping you, its not even any of their business! If they won't let you use theirs then just goto the store and buy a pack of razors for like 5 bucks and shave!

ok - how old are you ? if you are 14 or older then your parents are way out of control.

get a razor and shave - or go to the mall and get waxed. you dont need parental permission, im sure! also, try going to the local store and just buying some hair removal cream.

do it after your shower - or when they arent home - what are they going to do ? force the hair to grow back??

they cant control you like that.

but my advise is to get waxed. then they cant complain about the hair growing back thicker.

Tell them your leg hair makes you feel uncomfortable and self conscious.  It won't make your hair grow longer, it makes some people's get darker but not mine.  Besides, it doesnt matter if it gets darker/longer if you're gonna be shaving it off when it grows.

tell them you'll just do it twice a week .. it wont do that much harm...

and you can rest from shaving during winter, just wear long pants.. tell them to be reasonable.. if not, just take some of your dad's razors and do it!

also depends on how old you are..
