My parrots are acting really weird lately

my mom got recently a job teaching so shes been gone alot. Ever since that happened our parrots have been making loud sqawks when ever someone goes by. Its getting really annoying cause they wake me up. what can we do to fix this. give them away, give more attention ect.

how old are your birds?? if your birds are hitting maturity then that could spawn the weird behaviour. But most likely its the lack of attention or that the miss having your mom around.

They are just bored. Parrots are creatures of routine, and they just need more attention.  Do not give them attention when they scream, and especially do not scream back. Completely ignore them, otherwise they think you're joining in and it becomes a flock-ritual.

If you give them attention while they scream,then you're reinforcing the behavior as well, making it more likely to continue.

The best thing to do is for you to give them attention when they are behaving as desired.  When they are silent, show them lots of attention.  It just takes a little bit of time for them to get into a new routine, especially if your mom had them on a strict schedule. (Like she would do certain things with them at very specific times, every day. Like watching the news @ 8am, getting breakfast at 10am, shower @ noon, etc.)
