My partner and I need a Middle budget getaway for the weekend we live in melbourne?

Geelong, or great ocean road and stay at Lorne or Apollo Bay? A couple of Easters ago my parter & I went to Apollo Bay and went to the Otway Fly walk which was really nice. Admission has gone up ($25 per person now?) and we stayed one night at a hotel there. It was really relaxing and the drive was nice too.

Port Fairy is a nice little place.

If you are looking for somewhere quiet, with nice views and the ocean then it's a great little spot.

We rented a house there and it was only about $200 for the whole weekend.

We had 2 kids with us so it was pretty cheap!!!

Daylesford is also a nice spot, although it is a little more expensive depending on the kind of place you would like to stay in.  There's lots of markets and day spas, that kind of thing in Daylesford.

You could try Rottnest Island and Fremantle, which is close to Perth, WA. The island is beautifully, fantastic diving, snorkeling and just laying around. I go there quite a few times a year! You can try Malibu Dive for any gear, they even have fishing rods, organise snorkeling and diving tours...et cetera (http://www.rottnestdiving.com.au/). Fremantle is a quirky little hippy-ish town, with street performers, and great market, and amazing cafes. It's just really chilled out. If you like backpacking, you can stay at the old firehouse hostel....I'm not sure about hotels, sorry. It's a cheap location, and it's good fun. It would take about a week "All-up" if you like a relaxed holiday. The West Australian South West would be a fantastic wine region. If you want to venture out there, and do a tour, do "Wine for Dudes", they're amazing!
