My partner is accessing my laptop remotely how?

it could be remote desktop thats built in to windows or he could be using a different software which i dont know cos there is that many on the market if you do disable remote desktop and it still persists download a i.p hider and turn on your firewall in security settings to high letting nothing access your laptop without your consent

It could come from a number of things (Desktop Remote, Keylogger software, or a  keylogger device) If he is not using the desktop remote, then he could be using a keylogger device which he could have place the device inside of the  keyboard easy if he have has access to your laptop. But of course if he used the keylogger software he could do it from anywhere and from any computer. Like the other person said, you can go into the control panel and click on remote desktop to see if there is any thing different there, but with the keylogger software or the device that would be hard to detect unless you know what to look for.  You can google keylogger to find out more information ok. I do hope that you get this straighten out soon as this is invasion of your privacy and not right. (In any relationship there should be trust by both) Good Luck to you.

Go to Start>My Computer>View System Information>Remote and uncheck Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computer.

Another way to do this is Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>System>Remote

Included in Windows is a program called "Remote Assistance". Your partner may be using this or some other 3rd party software.

To use Remote Assistance, you first need to have an account with the Microsoft .NET Framework (If you have an MSN or Hotmail account then you have a .NET Framework account). Then you need to send an invitation to the computer that you want to assist you. They cant connect unless you send them that invitation. 3rd party software uses a different method and each software is different.
