My passport issued in Jaipur.and now its time to renew it.can i renew this passport from mumbai?

my passport last valid till jully 2009 but now in may i want to renew it but at present iam in mumbai so can i renew it from mumbai? if yes how what is the duration of renewing?

  2. yes. it should be possible. it will take about a month's time since indian government office the process all so slow.. unless you pay extra and apply on tatkal basis..

  3. As of now you would not be able to renew your passport so early. Generally, the Passport offices accept application at least a cuople of months prior to date of expiry.

    For a travel abroad the minimum validity of the passport is six months. You have one and half years for the expiry. So why worry when you have such long time in expiry.

    However, you can renew your passports from Mumbai, if you can prove your residence in Mumbai. Though, this will take more time than ususal renewal application takes, as there would OFFICIAL VERIFICATION VIA OFFICIAL CHANNELS, this does take a very harrowing long time if there is little eagerness to pursue on any passport office in question. You can do little in such case.
