My patio is facing North, will I be able to get Dish Network or DirecTV installed? My Comcast cable bills are very high.

Am I out of luck? or Have you gotten it installed with a north facing patio?

FYI, I live in a condo in Northern California (San Jose). There are no south facing windows at all. I live in 4th floor and there is just one floor above me.

I have Dish Network and was very impressed with the installer that was sent out.

Call a local retailer and have them send an installer out to look at it.  Installers are very creative at positioning the Dish.  I also suggest going to a local representative in case you ever have trouble.  They are much easier to get in contact with instead of calling an 800 number and going thru a menu.

I don't know, from what I have read in my research, it depends on your location and the satellite you will be using. You may be able to get the information just by calling each provider and asking.

Or, from my research of your question, you need to find out Azimuth  coordinates among other things. I found a website where you can put in your location and find out those

coordinates. (It is in the source section. You will still need to find out what kind of satellite or the coordinates of which ones they use. That may be able available through their online websites. I don't know.
