  1. Your tomato plant will benefit from the stronger and brighter afternoon sun to help it flourish. Can you move it? I, too, grow tomato plants on my deck in two large pots.  I have to water them well everyday and because the pots are on casters, I can move my plants into the sun as needed.  You might want to try a rolling planter base on casters (a big one)--if that will help.  Also, don't forget to fertilize your tomato plant. I use pink Miracle Grow made specifically for tomatoes. Another idea is to put red mulch (even just red plastic sheeting) around the base of the plant to help the fruit ripen naturally on the vine. It also helps to remove the lower, non-producing limbs so that more productive energy is diverted to the fruit.

  2. If you have little sun, then forget tomatoes, they will not fruit.

  3. Tomatoes really need all day sun, especially the afternoon sun.
