  1. well you kind of can actually.  They say that if your endurance is really good than you should go out 4 seconds slower than your pb/pr.  If your endurance is like most then you should go out 6 seconds slower than your pb which in your case would mean running 1:13 for your first lap.  Lastly if you are basically a sprinter and your endurance is downright awful then you should probably take it out 8-10 seconds of your pb.

  2. you really cant base it like that.

  3. I base my guesses on doubling my time and adding a bit.

So 1:07 - double to 2:14 and add a bit (in the long runs I add 30 seconds per mile doubled, which would work out at 7 seconds for 1/4 mile)

My guess would be about 2:20

  4. it really depends on how fast u run on the first lap. u could run as fast as u can on the first lap and get 1.07 and then absolutely die on the second one but in one 800 that i did i got 60 seconds on the first lap which was faster than my record 400m time. and then i went on to do a 1 min 10 second lap. so if u want to get a better time just run as fast as u can in the first lap. =]
