My pc cant find my mp3 player anymore . Why ?

Hi my pc used to be able to find my mp3 without any problem but now when i connect it nothing happens ive checked in my computer file and its not there ive also tested other devices on my usb pci card and that worked.

Ive also checked the usb cable that i use for my mp3 and that works to. So my question is what else could be the problem ?

My os is windows xp pro .

It would help a lot if you told us what kind of MP3 player you have, meaning brand and which one from that brand.
