When I use my PC after a while, the monitor goes into standby and the pc like restarts, or the pc just goes back to the screen that displays when I first turn my pc on. It keeps happening and I have no idea why so could someone suggest how to fix it.

I've just gotten back from holiday and the PC had been turned off at the mains for 2 weeks, and when I first turned it on the monitor didn't even receive a signal until I restarted it quite a few times.

Also when I try to send an error message, it says that the error message is corrupt.

  1. There might be a virus or some overheating on a specific hardware component.

  2. sounds like you need a new c/mose battery .they,re only a few quid ,worth a try.

  3. buy a new pc

  4. Look at your power options in control panel first, change the settings to stop it restarting. The problem could come with a faulty power supply, faulty motherbaord or faulty hard disk.

  5. Depends some choices i can think of:

Program wise -- YOu might have a virus thats proly e.g draining your memory. Solutions- runyou antivirus hopefully it lasts before it crashes.

Hardware wise: Might be the fan if it stopped working the cpu turns off when overheated. How to find out? well you got open and see for you self or check it from the back. If not you got repalce either buy a new one or taking to a repairer

I can't think of anything else at the moment, these are pretty obvious hope fully it helps

  6. The PC is restarting because of a RAM failure. Try changing the RAM and checking out.

  7. Sounds like its over heating to me,

turn it off, unplug it and open the case, look for any dust build-up impeding the fans, ensure the fans are working, see if that helps. if not the Ram answer above could also be plausible.

    Good luck,,,

  8. ok no dont buy a new pc yet!!!! it may just need re formating or scaning for virus if you brought the pc you could try phoneing where you got it from like currys or pc world hotline. good luck and hope you get it sorted

  9. Run scandisk ( computer, properties, tools ) and see if that helps. If not you might have to do a system recovery.

  10. You should try to restore the computer to a previous restore point (when it was working ok).

    Accessories/system tools/system restore
