  1. Some TVs (especially if it is an LCD) have a PC socket on the back and you can connect a lead from it to the PC. You may also be able to connect a lead from the headphone socket of the PC to the TV. Check the TV manual for details.

Some PCs have a socket which will connect to a TV. This is called an S-Video socket and you would have to check your manuals to make sure that both TV and PC have these sockets. If so you can buy a lead.

If the PC and TV don't have matching sockets you can either buy an adaptor from somewhere like http://www.maplin.co.uk or you can buy a new video card for your PC which has a TV out socket.

  2. Some PC graphics cards have S-Video but you would need a fairly modern TV with the same type of connector. The better LCD and plasma displays have a VGA connector, as use for normal PC monitors, and one or two HDMI sockets. Besides VGA, graphics cards can have  a DVI socket, for which a DVI to HDMI cable would be needed.

I have a PC connected via VGA to an LCD TV. Initially, I used DVI to HDMI but text displays were not very good. It seems that there are incompatibilities on HDMI standards. For VGA, the PC graphics card also needs to have suitable (widescreen) property settings. Thes might not be available on an older PC.

  3. Hi

If you TV has a SVGA input (same as a normal pc display) then you will need a SVGA lead, from Maplins or others.

If you gave the make model of the TV we could check!.

    hope this helps...

  4. TV tuner video card

  5. Of course you can, if you have a Big screen TV like a rear projection, Plasma or LCD look for the VGA input if you are using a PC Desktop if you are using a Laptop you can use an S-Video but you will need seperate cables for the audio RCA to a Y cable to hook up to your Laptop and you are done.

  6. depends what you are wanting to do on the pc? Is this for playing dvds from your pc? Or you want to watch the tv channels on your pc?
