My pc won't turn on at all?

One morning it just wouldn't turn on, it was fine just the day before.

-no power at all, nothing on the monitor--no fans on, ONLY the light on the motherboard.

-tested a different power supply and got the same thing, so it's not the power supply.

what can it be? what should i do? or test?

it's new and we built it 40 days ago meaning we also can't exchange or return parts to the store.

  1. Definitely something wrong with the motherboard

make sure double check everything is in place or nothing got loose if this does not work for you.... then return it!

    good luck

  2. Is there any beep sound you hear from the CPU ??

If not then try connecting the internal cables again, ensure that there is not any loose connection...else you'll have to replace the motherboard.

  3. Its probably your motherboard its not giving power to any other components.

  4. Have a look at the capacitors on the motherboard, they should all be flat and clean on the tops of them. If a motherboard dies it is quite commonly these that go, you may find one or two of them with raised (bulging) tops and possibly some discolouration. If this is the case it is definitely motherboard and needs replacing.

  5. fried motherboard perhaps?

  6. First guess is motherboard, even though you have a new PSU, if the motherboard's ATX connector is not returning signal, the PSU wont fire up.

  7. Thats a right hand kerfuffle, that is.
