My pearlscale goldfish has red balls on its cheeks like they are irritaed... they are big red balls

Are you sure you have a Pearlscale, not one of the bubble eyed Goldfish ( http://www.dkimages.com/discover/preview... )?  There is a possibility you have a Pearlscale with a wen, but the red orbs would be on the fish's head, not "cheeks": http://www.goldfishutopia.com/images/cro...

The white spots are probably Ich, which is a parasite that can easily be treated with any of the commercial medications.  Be sure to remove any activated carbon from the filter during treatment.
