  1. How often is the dog in the car with you?  When I take a long road trip with my pug, she sometimes get sick.  I found that the best thing to do is to skip the meal before the road trip.  ie. If we are leaving in the morning (as we just did on vacation), she does not get breakfast.  So, the last meal she eats is about 12 hours prior to our getting in the car.

Of course, if you take  your dog with you in the car often, that might not be a realistic solution.  But, if its only occassionaly, you might want to consider it.

Also, I personal would rather not give my dog unnecessary meds, so, that is also why I prefer the "skip a meal" way.

  2. Flower essences are always safe and you can simply put them on your dog's coat or paws - they don't have to be ingested to be effective

Go to: http://www.earthspirits-herbals.com and click on Australian Bush Essences.  They have a "travel" combination which might help the dog a great deal with the car sickness.
