My period has lasted more than 2 weeks what should i do?

I'm 18 I've been irregular for some time now, and i've never been sexually active, some days i have heavy bleeding other days i don't, and sometimes i have clots. I'm not too sure whats wrong with me, I've checked online and some sites say that its not really serious but idk i just want to make sure, i have a boyfriend and he really wants me to get on birth control so that i can become sexually active, im not sure whats going to happen though

1st of all you shouldn't have premarital s*x 2nd of you should be fine its  happened before

i would go to the doc you really should not bleed for that long you may become anemic from it

I had two periods within 5 days of each other that lasted 15 days each, so I decided to go to the doctor. Nothing turned out to be wrong with me, fortunately.

Considering the length of your period, and your irregularity, I'd recommend going to the doctor. My doctor decided that both of those symptoms were enough to put me on Yaz. And if you're considering becoming sexually active, being on birth control would be a good thing to get started on. Hope this helps a bit:)

Please check with your doctor or maybe contact a planned parenthood for advice.  If you were just spotting for over a week I would said no big deal but heavy bleeding get it check out.  ASAP!
