My period is 8 days late but test is still neg. whats going on?

Have been trying to conceive for 7 or 8 months

My period is always on time, never late

Period is now 8 days late, took a hpt this morning, still neg.

Not under any additional stress, no underlying health issues, and I haven't been stressing over it.

Whats up?

I would suggest going to get a blood test done.. your body just might not be making enough of the hormone for the urine test.. good luck & just to let you know, I am in the same boat.. I am over 25 days late for AF.. taken over 8 HPT'S even been to the hospital & doctors office all negs. Just waiting for results from blood work.. if you fine out let me know.. good luck & let's hope it's not serious and we're finally getting our babies (oh.. I've also been TCC for almost 8 months).. BABY DUST.. xo

maybe the test was wrong you can always go get another one and take it or go to your doctor and have them do some blood work

You could get a blood test just to be sure of pregnancy.  Have you had any weight gain or loss recently? Sometimes little things can affect your period.  Good luck!

Sometimes it takes a while for the hormones to kick in. I knew I was pregnant after my husband and I had s*x, I guess just a feeling, but I didn't test positive for three weeks. Good luck, and wait a few more days.

Are you sure you ovulated last cycle? If you didn't ovulate, you wouldn't get your period. This just recently happened to me and I was very confused. I was 2 weeks late for my period and still getting negative HPT. My doctor diagnosed a transient lack of ovulation (i.e. just randomly didn't ovulate one cycle). And I am with you... my period always comes every 28 days - never late.

A urine pregnancy test may not be accurate until you are at least 6 weeks pregnant, I suggest you go to your DR  and have a blood test which will tell immediately, goodluck, i have 4 children who are all very special i wish you all the luck in the world :)
