Question:

My period... is this something serious?

I am not sexually active, nor have I ever been before. I am turning 16-years-old, and have had my period for a little over a year and a half. My period is never regular, and at times I go four - six months without getting it. The one time I got it "regular", it was so light that it could have gone by unnoticed. Is this something serious?

  1. yea your period is sometimes irregualr for the first couple of years, that happened to me too it takes some time for your body to get used to your period...

  2. I am a CCMA

It is normal because you are new to it is nothing more than hormones trying to regulate themselves

  3. nope. it's perfectly normal. your period could be irregular for a couple of years.

  4. This is normal. I was told once you become sexually active it would come regularly. (Not that you should rush that) Once I did mine was for a while but then it went back to doing it's own thing and it's been over 9 years. Since everybody is different you should talk to your Gynecologist.

  5. There is no way we can tell you "for sure" on here. The best thing for you to do is go to a gyno and get a pap done. I had irregular periods like you and got put on birth control. It regulated them for me and I always knew when I had one coming.
