My permit expired, what should I do next?

I'm a Californian and I've applied for a permit in March of 2007. It was issued to me in February of 2008, and expired in March of 2008.

I'm not sure what to do next. Should I reapply for a permit? Also, I turn 18 in December. What would be the best plan for me to follow?

I'm sure you can take a test to get your real license now,

Your permit is only good for 12 months. You will need to re-apply for a new permit. If you don't complete the driver training and education classes required, you can't take the drive test until you turn 18.

Wait till your 18 and i ehard you can go to the behind the wheel test straight away.
