  1. Well, that is a hard problem to fix. All you had to do is say the word once and your parrot can remember it, usually because of the emotion involved with swearing. So even if you don't normally swear around your parrot,  one time by accident, or in another room where he might of overheard and it was all for nothing.

  2. you probably won't get him to not say those words but try teaching him other words and maybe it'll distract him

  3. I would apologize to my visitors and let them know that you didn't teach him the bad words. Then reinforce him when he says good words, by you teaching him better. Then I believe I would teach him a better line of words to say.

  4. Well teaching him was the wrong descision. It is your problem. They hold on to words forever.

  5. idk

  6. You can get a parrot to decrease how many times they say something by not saying it, ignoring them when they say it, and teaching them other words. If you are in the room and they say it, don't look at them and just walk out of the room.

  7. Try positive reinforcement when he says something you DO approve of and ignore the swearing.  As with any behavior, positive or negative if you acknowledge it you are reinforcing it.

Give him special treats for saying the good words and ignore the bad or simply walk away and don't give him attention if he swears.

He will quickly learn to associate sweaing as something negative and stop doing it, especially if he doesn't get a treat for saying it but does get a treat for saying more appropriate words.
