My pet kangaroo Edward wants to go fossicking, what should I do?

He collected a knapsack to take with him: several dampers, and a billycan, tea, sugar and a couple of cucumber sandwiches. I do not want him to go, I think he will get into trouble somewhere along the way. What should I do?

Well - these days come to all of us unfortunately.  You can't keep them at home forever.  Let him out into the real world to find his own way.  He seems like a smart roo - and if you have taught him well then he will know of the possible dangers and what he needs to do.  You just have to let him know that you will always be there if he wants to return.  (And maybe he'll return with some goodies?!)  You have to let go now and let him make a life for himself... he has to learn to live without you - and you without him!

Just add some zinc for his nose, a swag and a dryzabone for bad weather and he will be just fine.

Be happy that he is doing something with his life and not relying on government support!  I say well done to him and good luck to you both.

He'll be right. As long as you tell him to mind his manners and to be careful of strangers. Not everyone is nice. Might be an idea to give him a guide on fossicking for beginners, just so as he will know what too and what not too look for. Don't want him thinking he is rich when all it is is fools gold.

Some block out, a rain coat and an adequate amount of water would be an idea to add to to Edwards other supplies.
