I've had my rabbit for a long time and she has never shed alot before, but know all of a sudden she is.

my family went on holidays and had the neighbot watch her, and when we came home her soft white fur was ruffled and she is now shedding. Is this normal for a rabbit, she is getting old i think.

  1. I used to raise bunnies. They will always do this once they reach sexual maturity even if they never have a mate. It is kind of a thing like when cats or dogs go into heat. The males will also do this. They rip their own hair out to build a nest get your bunny some bedding or some hay so that it can make a nest.

  2. brush her often, every day. that's what i do with my bunny and it works. if u were wearing black that makes the shedding more noticeable so it might of been cuz of that.

  3. mine does that too! i dont know whats wrong he is acting normal!

  6. you might want to brush or comb her (depending if she is a long or short hair) also, most rabbits go through a shedding season once or twice a year.
