i am so tired of the shaky connction my landline has. whenever i talk to anyone the line is unclear it just disconnects. i think its being bugged since there is this phone box thing for the whole neighborhood near my house and there is always someone from "at&t" messing around with it. the guy just has this phone thing and he listens to it for hours. and one time on the way from school the guy stopped my and i asked if i was indian (i am). i said no cause i was suspicous and he said "oh, i just wanted to know what a word meant." which makes me think he's definetly listening to everyones phone conversations in the neighborhood. i live in an area with a lot of muslims, indians, and asians, so im pretty sure the gov. must be keeping an eye on this area. but then again im wondering if it is our phone companies problem, i have comcast. so give me your opinion do you think its being bugged by the gov. or its just the phone co. and if its the gov. thats bugging it, what can i do to well i don't know have a proper phone conversation??! any input helpful! thnx =)

  1. I think you are worrying about nothing.  That big box in your neighborhood is a (Remote Terminal) or Cross Box (copper phone line connections.  The RT is connected to equipment that is located inside your local telephone company's CO (Central Office).  A technician will constantly be working in those boxes to add, disconnect and repair telephone service.  Since are complaining about the service, it possible that the RT in your neighborhood is needing constant repair.  Depending upon your service, the phone company could be having trouble with the copper cables or fiber optics.  It is against the law for techinicians to purposely listen to phone conversations.  They are allowed to briefly monitor phone lines for quality and testing.  I do not think you have anything to worry about.
