My physco neighbor went nuts and poured black food dye in my swimming pool.?

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can safely get it out with out harming the water? Or without having to drain the water?(It looks like a pool full of grape KoolAide) HELP!!

  1. if you super chorinate or shock it to a really high level it will bleach out the color and then use a nuetralizer to bring chlorine level back down to less than 5ppm. if done it when somebody poured aqau shade in a fountain at work

You need something to collect the dye particles.  Your filter will take out some.  Maybe tying a thin white cotton cloth (like a t-shirt) over the jets overnight to filter out some of the dye.  Also depends on what kind of pool.  If concrete you'll never get it all out.  If a vinyl liner, most of it should come out with cleaning and filtering.   Dye in water are mostly suspended particles.  They cling to anything porous, the more filtering you can do the more you'll remove.

  3. Why?  I would notify the police and charge damages for the neighbor.  That is malicious vandalism.  

    SUE THEM.
