I planted pink hollyhocks and they bloomed pink the first year. The second year they came in with black blooms. We decided to see what would happen this year and they again came in black. What happened to our pink hollyhocks? Do they change color? Is it something in our soil?

  1. this can be blamed on evil global warming

  2. They do change color. It happened with me.

  3. Cause Mick Jagger sang to them while you were gone.

"I see a pink hollyhock and i want to paint it black".

  4. creepy.....maybe it's an omen

  5. COOL THE END OF THE WORLD IS NEAR

  6. I know with hydrangea you can turn pink flowers into blue ones by changing the soil to a low pH (acid). Perhaps this is the case with your flowers. Black is actually closest to blue. So its possible there was something that made the soil acid- such as evergreen needles close by or maybe the fertilizer you started to use was acidic?

  7. youve just got goth plants, a gentic malfuntion could cause this
