I have been depressed and ill - with strange symptoms - for 2 years. I decided to create a plan to get out of it. i stopped all anti depressants - which never helped me at all - and i have some daily tasks:

1. swear - everytime i do swear for exercising i feel a little better;

2. care about ur apparence - it's nice when we look at the mirror and like it.

3. go partying once a week - maybe trying to get back ur good feelings

4. masturbation or s*x - it's sweet, pleasure and we have more self esteem

5. good foods

6. read something you like.

so........what do u think? will I kick depression away? i've started and i dont feel a lot better....but...maybe a bit.

  1. well you can be the guinea pig lol

    no ffence

  2. Sounds good but if you're truly depressed it will only be a temporary fix

  3. When your depressed, all of your decision's feel right...In life just remember "whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't"  EITHER way you are right...Do whatever you want

  4. 6.read something you like.

when i read i get straight into it (if its a good book of course)!

eating may help but then u would get fat and then get more depressed.

  5. i think your fooling your self, how come your not looking into why your depressed and addressing that, when you say partying does that mean you will be drinking Alcohol, alcohol is the worst thing you can have when your depressed its ok when your drinking it but the next day you feel 5 times worse.

don't drink it, you will feel much better once its out of your system and if you have been drinking and taking anti depressant tabs no wonder you don't feel like they are working.

exercising is good but don't shout your self away, make sure you see people as much as you can and if i was you i would see your doctor and maybe change your tablets to something else, good luck you have the right attitude

  6. Do what ever you enjoy, and it will keep you from being depressed, so yes if that is what you enjoy.

  7. its going to be hard mate.

it takes alot of effort to get over deppresion.

i started on Citalopram and i was lucky, a girl i really liked (who is now my gf) has really made me happy. its changed so much.

i also went out and bought myself an xbox 360, i felt i needed something to take my mind off of other things that were depressing me.

    this also worked wonders.

i soon stopped taking my tablets and decided i would do it alone with no help from chemicals.

    what i done was:

ate more healthy foods (dont know how it helped but it did)

made more of an effort with my appearance (i now actually get compliments when im out for the way i dress/look)

spoke to my closet mate about my problems and he helped so much, cos i could talk to him bout what was goin on and he would reassure me it was all ok and that when i go back home (im living away from home atm) we would go out for a drink like old times.

and when i went out on the weekend. i would go and talk to people i didnt even know and would end up with them for the rest of the night until i went home.

great way to take your mind off things and make new mates etc.

tbh, i wouldnt think of masturbatin or having s*x loads. it might work for you but i was actually put off the idea of it.

i done all this and im all fine and dandy now

i hope everything works out fine

and if you need to talk to anyone, you can always e-mail me on

i feel that talking to other people who have suffered depression helps alot as they know what you are going through.

  9. sounds good  Yes  pills a waste of time.      Its counselling,  doing things  building confdence   that works  and defeats  depression  .  Sounds like you are doing OK   good luck.

  10. You should definitely exercise as well, when you exercise you release chemicals in the brain which make you feel good. But other than that i think it's a pretty good plan.

  11. not bad, add a bit of exercise and be around people that make you happy as well.

  12. This sounds good - you can also try the following: exercise, yoga, meditation, don't dwell on the negative, make a conscious decision to be HAPPY - watch funny movies - write down some affirmations and tape them to your mirror or somewhere you will see it - e.g. I feel Good, I feel Great, I feel Wonderful - I know it might sound dumb but it helps - tell yourself your going to have a great day, good things will happen today - I am healed - I am healthy, strong, perfect and whole!!! - Hang around people who are inspiring - listen to music - be grateful for every day!!

I was depressed and going through some financial issues - it was really bad and one Sunday I turned on the t.v. and heard Joel Olsteen speaking - he really inspired me - I read his first book and have his second book Become A Better You on CD I listen to it every day. Its amazing how motivated I get when I listen to him - so, I recommend his books on CDs as well.   He gives you the tools you need to be a more positive person.

I wish you the best of luck - You'll be all right!!  Take care : )

  13. All the best. Hope it works for you.

  14. GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
