I have a small garden with a tall blue veronica, boneset, columbine, evening primrose. I would like to replant them so they are more spaced out. What is the best time and way to do this?

  1. When the temperatures are cooler (60s) you can move them safely.    Dig the new hole first.  Add some compost to the hole.  Dig up your plant and place in the new hole.  Be sure the plant is sitting at our a little above grade.  Fill in and water well.  Be sure to continue to water well until the snow flies.  Have fun!

  2. When it's cool, and they are going dormant, or in the spring, just before, or just as, they start to put out new growth.
