My plasma tv turned off by itself and now it won't turn back on!?

it is a magnavox 42" plasma. i got it a year ago. we were just watching tv and it shut itself off. now when we go to turn it back on it just makes a bunch of clicks likes its turning on or off but doesn't come on. sometimes the blue light comes on like its going to turn on, then it just shuts right back off! what is wrong! i just bought it a year ago, and it isn't even paid off yet! i looked when i tried turning it on and i don't see any kind of light. just a black screen. *sob*

  1. The start up circuitry has gone and needs replacing. The clicking is called Tripping. Sorry it has to go back for repair.

  2. The power source in the tv probably died. Need to replace it.

  3. If you bought the extended warranty, then you have no worries.  Otherwise, you're in for a nice little repair bill.  Sounds to me like the power supply went out.

However, usually when it's the power supply, nothing happens when you press the on button.

I don't know what you mean by "I already called target to activate my extended warranty".  You have up to 60 days from the purchase of the TV to buy the warranty.  Once you buy it, there is no need to call anyone to "activate" the warranty.  You should have received a sticker to put on the TV with your warranty number and the phone number to call.  That sticker was on the back of the warranty card that you purchased at the time you bought the TV.

(You can probably guess where I work, right? lol)
