My pokemon ruby say tat the internal battery ran out?

i heard people say tat if you play the game with your gameboy charging it the internal battery will recharge, i have a DS lite and it doesnt seem to be workin is there anyother way to charge the battery without taking apart the cartidge? -for the moment everything seems to be alright xcept for the time, the berries, and events.

That happened to my pokemon silver i think it is because inside the cartridge of the game it was worn out.
