My polaris 180 pool cleaner started running funny this week. The back wheel hardly ever touches the ground when its running so it doesn't clean correctly. Anyone else have this happen ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  1. The factory setting for the thrust jet on the rear of the head unit should be at the 11 o'clock position.  Loosen the two screws (don't remove them) and adjust it to that position if it's no longer there.

Also, check the ballast float; it should be about a finger's width from the front of the mast it's on.  If it is too far back, it will give more lift towards the back of the unit, often lifting that rear wheel off the floor.  (Also, take the ballast float off and shake it.  If it has water in it, replace it... another common cause of problems.)

  2. On the lower back side is a jet. Not the one the whip hose attaches to but below it. It should be pointing up and to the right. About the one or two o'clock position. If it got moved and is pointing down then that is what is causing this to happen.
