My polaroid LCD tv will not pick up all the channels its supposed to...?

I live in a dorm and girls in other rooms can get like 70 channels but for some reason we are only getting about 20 and I think it is because I do not have the tv set up right..can anyone help?

  1. under the menu there should be somthing like a scan feature you need to scan though all the channels i dont what tv u have do thats as detailed as i can get,


  2. On an LCD TV make sure that you have the TV set to the CATV/Cable position THEN auto scan.

    Some models will do an auto detection that is they check for cable and broadcast TV and automatically determine which one you are hooked up to.  

    On a limited number of models there are two antenna inputs one for cable  one for a TV antenna make sure you are on the correct input.

    In any case you must be on the right cable input or the TV will not find all the channels.  The only sure way is to read the owners manual and follow the instructions.

    Channels 2 - 13 are the same for cable and broadcast after that they are different, but some upper cable channels are close enough in frequency that some TVs, even in the broadcast mode, will detect them on the mid cable channels.  

  3. Under menu,find channel setup set auto and let the unit search

    check to make sure no channel has been delete
