My pond pump will run but it does not pump ?

Question

I ran water through the hose so it isn't clogged -- can it be repaired. I had two working and both are running but won't pump.

The pump has lost prime.  If it ran too long it may have melted the PVC fitting and pipe at the pump.  Check to make sure they ok.

There should be a ball valve or plug to run water into as the pump will not work unless there is water in the housing of the pump.  If you run water into it for a while and it doesn't stay full the check valve (foot valve) at the end of the suction line in the pond may have failed.  Or the suction line might have a hole in it or be cracked.

Once you have water in the pump and it stays at the same level it should start pumping.

ITS MORE THAN LIKELY THE DIAPHRAM BAD,DEPENDS ON WHAT TYPE OF PUMP IT IS AS TO RATHER IT CAN BE REPAIRED,YOU'D PROBABLY BETTER OFF TO JUST BUY ANOTHER ONE.

Your pond pump is a motor and a pump. The motor is running, but the pump isn't pumping. Your impeller is most likely clogged, or has come loose from the motor shaft. Take it out of the pond let it dry and take it apart to see what the matter is. You may be able to fix it, but most of these pumps are not made to be repaired, just replaced. Good Luck

If your pump is a magnetic drive you can usually get replacement impellers for them if you know the manufacture.  The first thing I would do is pull the pump out of the pond and take it apart and see if something is broken or loose.  Plug it in and see if the impeller is turning.  You can run them dry because the impeller doesn't touch anything.  But only for a short time.  Check to see if the impeller is loose on the shaft.

make sure the pump itself isn't clogged. then while its running put water in your mouth and forcibly blow it threw the intake . you may have to do this several times and then see if it will work.
