So, our pool was very cloudy (couldnt see the bottom of the shallow end) so we used target floc alot to floc the pool and it cleared it up. When we were vacuuming it out it got cloudy again and now the pool is green and cloudy and i don't know how to fix it.

We have a chlorine based 30,000 gal pool.

  1. this happens to my pool all the time.you need to get shock which is avalible at wal mart or any pool store and put that in your pool. it will clear things right up.

  2. It has probley got dirty i suggest that you put some more chlorine in it and if that doesn't work try and clean it again and hopefully it should work then

  3. When vacuuming you moved to fast which stirred the settling, or your sand needs to be either back-washed or replaced. As for the green, check the chlorine level and adjust accordingly. Backwash the filter daily.  Get the pH adjusted and give it a day to do its work. DO NOT mix shock while using chlorine.

  4. it needs some shock it...read the directions and u may have to use it 2 times. Checking the pool daily helps and make sure to have enough chlorine in it as well. a cover for the pool helps loads too!

  5. get some granulated chlorine and either mix in a 5 gal. bucket or use a scoop and throw it in the pol, as soon as you do you'll start seeing it began to clear up,all this stuff for algee is ok but you just can't beat granulated chlorine, use around 5lbs. this will take care of your problem.

  6. When you shock it, brush the sides so it falls, after twenty four hours all the green algae falls to the bottom. It needs to be vacuumed out (to waste) and you have to move the vacuum head slowly and methodically, or else you stir it up off the bottom. Once you have vacuumed as much algae as possible, adjust the water level shock and run the pump continuously. After twenty four hours, backwash the filter to get rid of the algae in there. Backwash each day, for several days, making sure to maintain the chlorine level. In addition to chlorine you have to make sure all other levels are maintained, this makes the chlorine last longer and protects the pools equipment. Go to a pool supply store near you and get the shock there. The chemicals that department stores sell, are not as strong as from a pool supply store, and they'll also test your water if you take them a sample. Unfortunately in the beginning of the season

there's more to it than just chlorine. Once you've established everything then it's maintaining it with chlorine.

    Good Luck,  ;-)
