  1. you did not say what kind of filter you have but sounds like your pressure is to high.backwash filter.if you have any more questions email me at jldailey2000@yahoo.com pool company owner

  2. Check the filter and all the lines for clogs and/or debris. That's what usually causes low pressure.

  3. could be a dirty filter or a pump problem heres a page with a few things to look for regarding pump: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com...

  4. Probably just a dirty filter, just backwash it or clean the cartridges. Also check the impellar inside the pump. You can do this by opening the pump lid, pulling out the pump basket, and sticking your fingers as far back into that little hole in the bottom as you can. Make sure of course that the equipment is all off when you do this. If there is something there you can get it out with your fingers or an impellar pick and then make sure to replace the pump basket so it doesn't continue to happen.

  5. check the catch basket down by the pump. it may need cleaning.(be sure to block up the skimmer, and the water outlet on the pool, best to use a rolled up pair of socks) unscrew the top cover, then pull the catch can inside(little plastic basket thing). clean it out, and check down in the catch basket itself, to make sure no leaves or bugs or animals might be stuck down there. once clean, put the catch can back in, if you want to, put a couple chlorination tabs in the catch can, close it up (make sure the oring isn't pinched anywhere), then remove the socks from the skimmer. if this doesn't help, check your hoses to make sure you don't have a leak anywhere. if no leaks, and no pressure, has the pump motor gotten real loud ? if yes you might need to replace the motor. the bearings in the motor can go bad, and are not replaceable. you might also want to check your filter medium. it might be very dirty, especially if you neglected the pool last year. stop up the two waterways again (use the socks), then open up the filter to see if it is nasty. you can change it if it is.

  6. I see you have asked a few questions about a pool and I assume you are new to the pool game. I am too. However I found Troublefreepools . com to be a tremedous help. Any questions you have, there are 50 qualified people to answer them. Your question is suggesting that your filter (Sand. D.E., Cartridge?) may need cleaning/Backwashing. One of the symptoms of a dirty or clogged filter would be reduced flow. -
