Question:

My pool was a cloudy blue, now it's cloudy white?

On Sunday and Monday, I added Algaecide to kill all the bacteria and stuff because the pool was green.

On Tuesday, the water was a cloudy blue, and then i added Super concentrated clarifier.

On Wednesday, i did the same thing on Tuesday, then at night, i found out that pH was too high, so i lowered that.

Now TODAY, everything is balanced in the pool, (except for chlorine, we always put chlorine in our pool, but the tests always says 0). And BEFORE i put any chemicals, what should i do? It's a cloudy white right now, and i was thinking of just putting clarifier?

Also, I shocked the pool Tuesday. And I clean the filter everyday, and scrub the bottom, and vacuum.

  1. If you 'shocked' the pool on Tuesday then the chlorine should be high. If your tests always say 0 then I'd kit a new test kit.

In my experience, after shocking the pool it's (the water) taken a day or two to clear. I'd give it 24-48 hours to clear. Continue to check the Alkaline and chlorine levels to make sure they are balanced.

Keep the filter/pump going for those 24-48 hours too.

    Good luck...and happy swimming.

No, they're not that different. Get your clarifier but the important thing is to keep the filter and pump on for the next couple of days (24-48 hours) to clear the water.

    Good luck.

    Enjoy!

  2. Cloudy white after a hard chlorine/shock means you've killed the algae and now you need it out of the pool.

Head to the pool store and get some clarifier.  Put it in, run the filter for a couple hours and then let it sit overnight.  The gray c**p will collect and fall to the bottom of the pool and the water will be crystal in a day or two.
