  1. Your pool turned dreen?  Dreen?  Are you sure it turned dreen?  You need to get photographic or video evidence of this paranormal phenomenon and contact the Department of Defense immediately.

  2. Sure it can go green given the right circumstances, even after a shock. If you're not at break point chlorination, then there's not enough of a Cl level in there to take care of the nasties. It'll go green even if your other levels are ok.

It could also go green from another source, which people mistake as algae. Copper. If you have a pool heater and your water gets aggressive, it can strip the copper out of the heat exchanger, giving the pool a green tinge. That's not good and should be addressed quickly before your heater suffers additional damage and copper staining on the pool surface material happens. There are metal stain inhibitors and removers for this but you need to get the cause of the aggressive water dealt with first.

  3. How's the alkalinity? The only time my pool ever turned green was when the alkalinity got to high. Try checking it and adding the necessary chemicals as needed. If you have a local pool shop that can test your water for you try that.

  4. the natural color of chlorine is green.

  5. IF everything was balanced in your pool when u shocked it...means they have metals in your water, just add a metal remover to your pool and filter it out.

  6. im going to guess 2 lbs. was too much.
