my poor 1 yr old daughter has inherited eczema from me because i had asthma, she has it so bad she scratches and makes herself bleed so i have to put mittens on her all day every day and she then figured out how to take them off so i now have to tape them every day, loose but tight enough so she can't take them off, she can't wear any summer clothing and it is about to come into spring and i am getting worried i have tried prescribed steroid creams(sigmacort) but i don't like steroids at all i only tried it for a month it did nothing, calamine lotion-nothing, i have tried different soap free bath lotions but have found that dermaveen soap free is the best for daneeka, at the moment i use vitamine E cream on her 4 times a day it works good for the dryness but for the redness and itching it hasn't helped one little bit, she is still getting to herself through her mittens and i am at a loss. my doctor has booked a appointment with a doctor at the hospital to see if she may be allergic to something, but i have taken her off milk i have tried taking her off all wheat, egg, nothing seems to work, please help me, don't email me with the same old same old - don't give her milk or don't bath her often i have tried all of that simple stuff and need some real help please.......

  1. never feed the child cow's milk products, get her to an allergist & dermatologist, and ask if there is a parent resource group in your area.

  2. My mom's eczema was aggravated by the soaps/detergents she used to clean the dishes and the laundry.  Once she changed the detergent, her clothes did not bother her eczema.

  3. Hi There my partner suffers from psoriasis  (not sure of spelling) He himself has tried all the creams and he found one that an old Doctor told him about it is called Rudicks derisal, it is used on cattle but tell you what it stops the itching and the inflammation. Not sure if you can use it on a 1 year old but worth looking into it especially if you just want to stop the scratching.

    Hope this helped

  4. I have eczema too. I went to my doctor and he gave me Advantan Fatty Ointment. It helped it to disappear on my arms, but then i stopped using it so it came back. I started using it again tonight, and it stops the itching too. Advantan contains methylprednisolone and aceponate, if that helps. But I live in Australia so I'm not sure if you have it available near you because I don't know where you live. Also I noticed the itching increased when I wore winter clothes, like dressing gowns and jumpers which led me to believe that I was allergic to polyester. Maybe your daughter is allergic to a certain type of material? I don't know, but Good luck!

  5. Im not sure but I think you might be in Aus. If so I have heard of a soap called Billie Goat Soap and some health shops sell it. Im sure you can get it all over Aus. Go to there website and have a look at what people have written, people with problems just like your daughters. If you think this soap would help it only cost about $7.00

    The web site is www.billiegoatsoap.com.au

Just go and have a look.

  6. Eczema can also be caused by food allergies or pet allergies. Indoor pets and children are never a good mix. Most commonly mistaken for sinus infection or rashes are in fact due to pet dander. Also, if indeed it is food related I would consider getting a copy of: "Eating Your Way to Good Health" by: Doug Kaufmann. He has spent thirty plus years studying mold/mildew/fungus and how there are directly linked to most all of our "sicknesses." I'm a firm believer in Doug...I have used his herbal/natural approach to healing for years now. You can also google:

www.yourhealthmatters.com There is also a place where you can e-mail Doug and his staff. Hope this has been helpful!

    God Bless,

    Crystal

  7. I have been there with my daughter also. I know how frustrating it is. We tried all the prescribed creams, and you are wise to avoid sigmacourt as it thins the skin. Keep washing her with soap free bath products - I found Pinetarsol very good. Also make sure when you wash her clothes they are extremely well rinsed.

Having said that, try Lucas Paw Paw Ointment - it worked a treat for my little girl.

    Good Luck to you

  8. you can try using a soap made from goats milk. apparently it works wonders.

  9. My daughter had a nasty case, and I swear by elidel. You should ask for a referral to a dermatologist, though.. to also make sure that she doesn't have psoriasis, and to give a better recommendation for treatment.

  10. Borage oil, safe for babies and can be applied directly to skin. available at your local vitamin shop. i have seen it work for all sorts but especially hives and eczema. Talk to a nutritionist (one that works with herbs and vitamins) to find natural ways to relieve your daughters condition. hope this helps!

  11. aww your poor little girl. i have eczema in small patches all over the place but its not as bad. i really dont know how i can help.. but i with you luck
