I got many fish from wal-mart. You might have read my other question about them. Anyway, I have a fish from Wal-mart (yeah I know I'm stupid for buying fish there if u read my other question) And hes black and he has bulgy eyes and a butterfly-looking tail. Hes soo cute so I named him George. I saw he had white specks on him and found out its a commen diese called ich/ik. How can I cure it? I'm only 11 so my mom is going to see if she can find a treatment thing. What brand would be best for George? Please help! I love my George!!! I dont want him to go down the toilet! HELP me find a good ik treatment brand for George!!!

  1. Ok I have Fish also I buy at Pet Smart. If George has Ick  your other fish will get it also.  They have a liquid medication for about 3.00 you can put in your tank to cure ick and any fish that have it.  Read the directions carefully and follow them so you don't kill them all.

Good luck!!  If George doesn't make it then get another George and use the ick medication fast.

  2. well ich is a very commen disease at walmart..

they dont really take care of their fish, but ive had a couple fish from their that have lived a long time.. what you need to do is go to a PETSTORE, not walmart, and ask an employee to locate you to the ich medication. theirs some directions on the back..you usually have to put a couple drops in, but if you JUST noticed the ich, i think you can save your friend little georgie(:

by the way, you have a black moor..very beautiful fish, have a couple of my own..

hope i helped, best of luck with George(:

  3. Petco has a really good ick treatment product called Aquarium Products Quick Cure for $4 and it took 3 days for my fish to be completely cured!!  Hope this helps.

  4. It sounds like you have a Black Moor, so let's avoid heat and salt if at all possible, as Goldfish (like Black Moors) need large amounts of oxygen, and warm, salted water doesn't offer that.  I would make sure the water is around 75*, and then begin treating with Quick Cure or Rid Ich.  Make sure any activated carbon is remove from the filter, as it draws medications from the water.  If using medications that list malachite green as an active ingredient, keep the tank dark (light makes the malachite green less effective).  Treat at least one week after all signs of Ich are gone, as this will ensure the life cycle is gone through multiple times.

  5. Hello!

I also bought several fishies from walmart and most of them wound up having that skin disease!  :( they all died.  Go to a local pet store or call one and they can tell you what to do for it!  Call asap though because they fish probably wont live long without being treated (if it can be)  I hope the little fishy will be ok :)

    GOD bless!

  6. Try bringing to the vet or buy a medicine. Next time...buy it at big al's or Pj's pets...they have healthy and nice fishies! I had some of theirs for a long time.

  7. The best stuff out there is call quick cure from petsmart cost under 3 dollars. Works within 6 hours.
