  1. hey

im a 13 year old wicky/opener. I'd always struggled with my batting, however this season i found a bit of an improvement. A light bat is always handy when it comes to facing the quickies.

You might think this next one is a bit crazy, but it works for me. I don't wear a helmet when I'm batting. As well as being able to see the ball better, it also sends the bowler the "Im not scared of you" message.

    Ok. Now for the technique.

watch the ball. most important thing you can do as a batter.

Keep your bat as close to your front pad as possible. I've been bowled somany times through there ive lost count.

If you keep getting caught, try angling your bat towards your pad. If you pull it to a fielder, itll go down, rather than straight to them.

    Hope these tips help :)

  2. i guess that is normal ..............but if u just think that the ball is not attacking u and its not gonna kill you then u will hit it and BAM!! HOME-RUN!!! the pitcher is not pitching it at ur eye .....and if he is move out of the way!! but i am sure he wouldn't (because the other team would be penalized)!!!!

  3. batting is all about confidence, when facing fast bowling you have to be confident. heres a few tips to help you:

         1. keep your front elbow high, it helps to keep the bat straight

         2. get your back foot in line before you move your front foot

         3. get your front foot as close to the pitch of the ball as possible

         4. watch the ball all the way on to the bat, naever ever take your eyes off it, then you wont get hit

         5. play the ball as late as possible, then it will go all along the ground

         6. probably most important, be aggressive but controlled, dont let the bowler know that you are scared.

         7. take your time, dont get ready to play until you are ready, make the bowler wait. stand away from the crease and have a look round

hope this has helped!!! dont get too downhearted, youre only 14 and i didnt start playing well untli i got to 17, just be patient and listen to all that your coach tells you
