1. Winnipeg Blue Bombers 7-3-1

Beat every top tier in the league(cept Calgary cuz they havent played yet)and are operating on all levels......5-1 vs the good teams (if Toronto is a good team) and 2-2-1 against hamilton and edmonton...nuff said.

Only issue now is Glenns health.

2. B.C. Lions 7-3-1..

Had a tough stretch of losses against Ssk, Wpg and Montreal, but are roaring again, even without a dominant qb.

3. Calgary 6-4-1....tough start to the season but after dominating the RoughRiders last week, they are a true contender to finish in the west #1, if Burris stays Hank and not frank.

4. Sask RoughRiders 7-4......Will the real Roughies please stand up? Back to Back blowouts cant sit well with Austin and Rider Nation is gonna get awful cranky if they have 3 losses in a row......they keep losing and they will see their dream season come to an end....no home field this year for the Roughies will mean certain doom in Calgary or B.C.

  1. Nope.  After watching 3 of 4 games this weekend I'm pretty much in agreement.  Argos and Cats looked like c**p.  Roughies looked wishy-washy.  Bombers still the team to beat.

  2. all the best to all the teams

  3. exactly how i would have it......calgary has yet to prove they can beat the Bombers and vice versa, so you have to give the higher rating to the team with more points.

  4. Well, if you're doing power rankings, I think the team that's unbeaten in their last four should be first, so I'd have Calgary at number one.  Winnipeg and BC would be 2 and 3.  I suppose I'd give Winnipeg the edge for having the bigger lead in their division.  I agree with Sask at 4, because they've been blown out two weeks in a row, now.  After that, the list seems alright.  I'd have put Toronto over Edmonton before Week 12, but after an impressive win by the Eskies and an embarrasing loss by the Argos, you could make a case for them at number 6.  I'm just not sure that I would, though, since the Argos have been playing better than the Eskies of late.

My list would look like this:

    1. Calgary - Hottest team in the league right now.  Their recent play has given them a good shot at winning the Western Division, and they have an easy win coming up when they play Hamilton on Friday nite.

    2. Winnipeg - Far and away the best team in the Eastern Division.  I expect them to have homefield advantage in the playoffs.

    3. BC - Have endured the loss of their top two quarterbacks and are still on top of the Western Division.  For now, anyways.

    4. Saskatchewan - Two straight blowout losses have knocked the Roughriders from their perch on top of the league.  How much farther will they fall?

    5. Montreal - Their 6-5 record shows that they've been a win-one/lose-one team all season.  The Als are mediocre, but good enough to make the playoffs out east.

    6. Toronto - While last week's loss was a big setback, the Argos should make the playoffs if Michael Bishop stays healthy.  Their two meetings with Edmonton will decide their post-season fate.

    7. Edmonton - Far and away the worst team in the Western Division.  Last week's win snapped an ugly losing streak that included back-to-back losses to their provincial rivals, and was the first time all season that they beat a team by more than 4 points.  I'm picking Montreal to win the rematch in Week 13, though, and I don't think Edmonton will make the playoffs, even as a crossover team.

    8. Hamilton - They're 1-10.  What more needs to be said?

On a side note, I think these power rankings are a great idea, and something that I should be incorporating into the CFL section at mopsquad.com.  I'll probably wait until next season, though, because we're more than half-way through this one...
