My powered Sony subwoofer has 2 rca ports but my new receiver only has one subwoofer port..?

...what cord is the best to convert the two ports to one on my onkyo sr505 receiver?

  1. You shouldn't have to.

    If your receiver has a LFE out just use the L input on the sub.

    The sub is able to work with a stereo receiver that does not have a LFE out.


  2. In the case that your sub doesn't have an LFE channel input, you can get a Y-adapter from Radio Shack for a few bucks.  Tell them your situation and they'll help you - it's quite common.

  3. Subwoofers with 2 rca inputs usually mean that one input is meant for an external crossover device while the other is meant for hookup to a receiver with an internal crossover. Plug it into the one meant for the internal crossover.
