My powered Sony subwoofer has 2 rca ports but my new receiver only has one subwoofer port..?

You shouldn't have to.

If your receiver has a LFE out just use the L input on the sub.

The sub is able to work with a stereo receiver that does not have a LFE out.

In the case that your sub doesn't have an LFE channel input, you can get a Y-adapter from Radio Shack for a few bucks.  Tell them your situation and they'll help you - it's quite common.

Subwoofers with 2 rca inputs usually mean that one input is meant for an external crossover device while the other is meant for hookup to a receiver with an internal crossover. Plug it into the one meant for the internal crossover.
