  1. a little something would be nice

  2. I will never forget when I was in first grade and my first grade teacher Ms. Robertson was the sweetest person ever and I cried because I didn't want her to not be my teacher anymore so my mom let me go get a present I picked out myself, made her a card and my sister asked her to come out in the hallway so I could express my thankfulness and sadness for a wonderful year.  Remember it in full color those wonderful days in first grade with Ms. Robertson.

So YES always thank the great teachers for a job well done...esp these days it is not an easy job no matter what the age.

  3. If you liked the teacher and felt that she contributed to your child's education then YES, something small is fine.  All you are trying to do is show her that you recognize and appreciate her contribution.  Most teachers go above and beyond what they are paid to do and many purchase supplies out of their own money.  They do this because they love their students and want the best for them.  A card (signed by your child if possible)and a small gift shows you understand this.

  4. Do you feel your teacher has "gifted" your child ? I would sure hope to shout she probably has. So my answer would be yes but I would let the child pick out anything, their favorite rock, flower or whatever, a gift from the heart of a child is much treasured by a teacher.

  5. yes, u probably should..it will show that u appreciate your child's teacher and are serious about your child's education.

  6. Lots of good answers. Avoid mugs, lotion, candles. Although I appreciate the gifts my students give, these are a few that are quite frankly overdone. (By my third year of teaching, I had amassed a box full of mugs. I hated doing it but gave them to Goodwill. You can only own so many!) The best gift cards are the VISA gift cards. Can be used anywhere, anytime for anything!

Personalized gifts are great! I still have a framed drawing one of my students gave me 12 years ago. It's one of the first things that I hang every year.

  7. i say yes, especially if the teacher was nice, passionate, and caring for your child; and really made a difference in your childs life.

  8. i'd think if you realy wanted to give the teacher a present it should be a handwritten note saying how much she helped your preschooler and some kind of gift card to somewhere she likes to go like a starbucks or something

  9. i would say yes because when you do something in hard work you probably want to get something in return. so when you give the teacher a present you are saying thank you so much for teaching my child. so i would say Yes

  10. Absolutely!  They have been such an important part in your precious child's life.  It would be great to show them just how much that has meant to you.  It doesn't have to be anything huge.  Something handmade by your child with a card (or their homemade card) would be awfully meaningful.

Remember it doesn't have to cost a fortune, it's the thought or effort behind it that counts!

Good Luck & happy graduation to your daughter!

  11. I think that is really up to you.  I don't think that it is expected, although it would be appreciated. Gift certificates are always nice; Starbucks if she/he is a coffee drinker or maybe one to a place like Bath and Body Works.

Congrats on one of many graduations for your little one.

  12. Yes, A cute personalized teacher canvas bag or if you dont want to spend that much some lotion from Victoria's Secret or candles are always nice

  13. if you have a demon of a child, then yes, for all the h**l she put her teacher through. otherwise i dont think you have to

  14. I say yes. My best friend is a pre-schooler and she loves it when the kids and/or there parenst bring things in for her. It makes her feel appreciated.

  15. Something simple and not expensive. It could be child made. A personal letter is always nice. The teacher just wants to feel appreciated.

  16. YES! A small gift should be given each year to your child's teacher and assistant. We don't get tips and rarely any words of thanks or gratitude. A young child needs help finding a suitable gift but should help wrap it. Allow them to hand the gift to the teacher and encourage them to offer a polite thanks. Older children can choose, wrap and present it themselves. Hand-made gifts are cherished too.
