My pregnant dwarf hamster squeaked at me?

Question

Yesterday, my maybe pregnant dwarf hamster squeaked at me when I tried to pick her up. Why is that? Did she think I was going to hurt her or her not born pups?

P.S. I did not breed her, I got 2 female dwarfs and found out one was a boy. The male is now in a different cage.

her stomache might be aching a little and when you picked her up itmight have made her hurt more.

It could have hurt her slighty, or she could feel threatened or maybe just not want to be handled while pregnant because its uncomftable.

She is stressed out and doesn't want you to pick her up.  Or you could have hurt her or one of her pups.  Don't pick her up intill her pups are born and they don't have to drink her milk anymore.

if this is her first litter she may just not know what is going on ... it is better to leave her alone untill the baby hammies are born and 3 weeks old..

she might be pregnate i had a pregnate 1 2 they don't like to be handled when they r pregnate she is just being careful i think all pregnate hamsters do that
