My printer keeps printing the test page every time.... My HP PSC 1315 prints the test page every

My HP PSC 1315 prints the test page every time I switch it on. The only way to stop it is to press Cancel every time right after switching on the printer. It used to be fine and only print the test page on demand, but after the ink was changed it does it every time.I have a HP 1500 and I am having the same problem.  I tried the solutions suggested by others without success.  I am wondering if it's because I bought a compatible cartridge, i.e. not a genuine HP one.
